About the project
Conceived to accompany visitors through the life of one of the most revolutionary painters in art history. Caravaggio’s story is broken down into four critical phases and displayed in four rooms immersing the visitor into his world, his emotions, his tragedies and his life.

Caravaggio: Beyond the Canvas is a thrilling, multi-platform biographical story split into four rooms, each of which cover different aspects of the infamous artist’s life and reveal fascinating insights into his world, his art and his soul.
Room one – “Caravaggio, The Early Years” – provides insights into the formative events of Caravaggio’s life, including his induction into his craft and the onset of danger at every turn. Room two, “Fame and Fortune”, explores the turning point of his professional life where although he found his place in the artistic world of Rome, his controversies persisted and grew.
Room three, “Into The Shadows”, deals with his vices such as gambling, drinking and violence, culminating in his misadventures with justice and the brawl that resulted in a murder charge and a death sentence which he escaped. The last room – “The Final Journey” – serves as the climax to our story, with Caravaggio chasing the Pope’s pardon, fleeing to Naples, Sicily and Malta, and finally facing his own mortality.
Told with stunning immersive visuals, expertly-crafted sound design and other gripping technological innovations of storytelling, Caravaggio: Beyond the Canvas is a sophisticated, engrossing and unforgettable experience for art aficionados and the general public alike.
