AlUla Visual Arts Residency
Maryam Bilal’s exhibition “The Shadow Over Everything” assumed the process-oriented ethos of a residency, eventually transforming the palm grove surrounding the Mabiti Hotel in AlUla into a multi-dimensional art experience that featured aural artworks, visual stories and many other mediums.

The resultant artworks seamlessly intertwined along the main path and amid the trees of an orchard, turning it into a three-dimensional painting that captivated hearts and minds. Participants in the residency and exhibition included Maitha Abdallah, Reem Al Nasser, Hugo Servanin, Joel Spring, Marlon De Azambuja, Gregory Chatonsky, Bianca Bondi and Guillaume Bouisset.
