The Heritage and Innovation Residency, KSA

The Heritage and Innovation Residency welcomed six international artists—Yasmina Benabderrahmane, Zuzanna Czebatul, Louis-Cyprien Rials, Anhar Salem, Aïcha Snoussi, and Salomé Chatriot—to explore AlUla’s rich historical, archaeological, and cultural landscape. Beginning with a week of guided site visits, the program offered an immersive introduction to the region’s unique context. Emphasizing research, experimentation, and critical reflection, the residency invited artists to engage with AlUla’s layered temporalities—past, present, and imagined futures. The program concluded with a public Open Studio in late June, where artists shared early-stage concepts, research, and works-in-progress with local audiences and cultural stakeholders.
